I know a lot of people are always curious what is currently being worked on by the development team at invasion, so I thought I would keep you guys informed on what I am doing right now. The first thing coming down the pipe is a new feature that you guys will love involving record keeping. I don't want to spoil our little announcement that much, but its going to be pretty cool and something, Reload and myself thought up in a random brain storm a couple nights ago. This should be done by this weekend, so hopefully you get to see it soon.
Next my big project is a rework on how the market works in many things. I know you guys want to see this project as soon as possible, but currently it will be a month or two at least before I release the alpha version of the economy. The system is going to be fairly simple hopefully for you guys to do things, but rather complex in how it works so we keep everything in wack. I know many of you have been putting lots of posts up on the forums about lots of ideas you have on this and complaints with the current system. We know the current system when we put it in wasn't perfect, so just don't beat it into the ground. I have talked in the chat a couple times what manner I think I am going to code the economy, but just understand its a lot to nail down.
Finally, I have to say I know a lot of you have been talking about AI recently. First, it crashes on occasion, because its not perfect yet. I hope you guys can understand and not blow things out of proportion when it goes down on occasion. There have been some people who have complained about the fact that the AI can easily get "swarmed" I have done some tests with this involving all sorts of mechs, first, I tried swarming with lighter mechs (not agros) against an IS assault mech. It simply resulted in a lot of dead light mechs. We have talked about putting in the ability for mechs to target multiple things on AI (this feature is going to players as well soon) as well. However it is not high on the to do list currently, though a feature you will see in time. It is not as easy of a solution as you might think to know that it probably can destroy that lighter mech with just a couple weapons so not to only target it. The closer we push the AI to acting like a player's thinking the harder it can get. If it really becomes an issue, we could reconsider, but I really don't think it is that big of a deal as of right now and I would much rather tackle other things like the economy..
